Recycling in the Schools

With a grant from the Department of Conservation, KCB and the San Diego Unified School District implemented beverage container recycling in 70 schools throughout San Diego. Six workshop lesson plans and materials were produced to assist the students in implementing the program. These six workshop lesson plans are available for $10 + shipping and handling.

Closing the Loop

Teachers and educators can order a copy of the Closing the Loop curriculum guide from the California Integrated Waste Management Board's website. This program is designed for grades K-12 and provides teachers with interesting lesson plans that put a new spin on conservation, recycling, and other environmentally based lesson plans.

Litter Prevention Posters

As part of their litter prevention and recycling campaign, KCB produced "Don't Trash California" posters featuring:

• World Champion Skateboard legend Tony Hawk
• Five Time Triple Crown Surfer Sunny Garcia

These posters are available free to anyone and include a coupon for kids to fill out and return to KCB for participation in a monthly drawing to win a Tony Hawk or Sunny Garcia product.
